What do you mean by ‘narration?

Narration in grammar refers to the skill of recording a speaker's words. There are two methods to summarise what was stated by the speaker: one is direct and the other is indirect. The former provides the words that are enclosed in inverted commas, such as "I'm not well." In the latter, the words are altered and spoken simply, as in He claimed to not be feeling well.
