There is no restriction on what can be brought into the exam room or taken home in an unrestricted exam. Students can able to bring anything they want during unrestricted open-book tests. An unlimited open-book test has no limits on what students can bring.
They are permitted to bring any books (with or without scribbles in the margins), lecture handouts, or handwritten notes.
