Guilford explained that creativity was a result of having sensitivity, flexibility and fluency.
Guilford's theory stated that creativity was a result of cognitive ability (intellect) alone.
After Guilford's initial model, researchers began to categorize mental ability into subsets, which would help others understand and put into place one specific part of creativity that Guilford brought to light that is the intellectual requirement.
