A formative evaluation is one that is conducted before to or during the execution of a project with the goal of improving the project's performance and design. A formative evaluation aids in determining the reasons why a programme is ineffective. An evaluation that aids in learning is referred to as a formative evaluation. The main goal of a formative evaluation is to provide a benchmark for the instructor and students to use to determine where they stand in their academic programme.
