What is Special Education?

Special education is a catch-all word for the carefully designed and coordinated instruction of all different kinds of exceptional children by their duly identified special requirements to support their maximum development, adjustment, and life progression. The phrase "special education" itself refers to all facets of education that are provided to gifted, disadvantaged, physically and mentally extraordinary children.
