Aptitude Tests in Educational Psychology
It is a branch of counselling and educational psychology. This topic has undergone so much research over the past several years that its applications are growing in popularity. The student will be doomed if a counsellor steers them into a certain job without considering their potential.
As a result, an aptitude test measures a person’s specialised ability to perform a task that is enhanced by training in that particular profession. For instance, in primary schools, a mix of pupils demonstrate interest in math, science, and music. We provide a proper atmosphere for the students to grow and develop their characteristics and skills in accordance with their ability.
The most crucial point is that a person’s aptitudes make them more equipped for certain opportunities, but in terms of education and employment, this is especially true in the case of career counselling.
Measurement of Aptitudes in an individual
In guidance, measuring the attitude of an individual is important.
There are two methods used for the measurement of aptitudes in an individual:

It involves providing guidance as well. This test identifies the person’s maturity in terms of their interests. The instructor should be familiar with the interests of pupils of all ages. Interests are a good thing; a high degree of interest in a certain topic denotes a favourable acceptance and maybe even energy towards it, whereas a low level of interest reveals a passive and apathetic attitude toward a particular objective.
Measurement of Interest:
There are four methods for determining in tests:
- Observing an individuals behaviour.
- By his/her scores on other ability tests.
- Administering an interest inventory to an individual.
- Inferring interests from the person’s knowledge of special terminology.
