Various Types of Assessments of Intelligence
The acquisition of information and abilities that indicate a person is imaginative, analytical, pragmatic, logical, a competent decision-maker, and quick at solving problems, which are necessities of society, is one way to define intelligence.
A person’s intellectual capacity is evaluated through a variety of activities, including coping with unfamiliar situations and various sorts of reasoning. This is done to determine the IQ level of the subject. Early in the 20th century, psychologist Alfred Binet created the first IQ test to help the French government identify students who required more support in their academics. Early in the 20th century, German psychologist William Stern coined the term “intelligence quotient,” or “IQ.” There are several forms of intelligence assessment, which we shall examine here.
Types of Assessments of Intelligence
There are two forms and three types of intelligence tests.
Forms of Intelligence Tests:
Verbal Intelligence
It has to do with applying the knowledge one has learned to address language-based issues.
Non-Verbal Intelligence
It has to do with figuring out logical and visual issues without the use of words.
Types of intelligence tests:
Individual Test
One person is tested at a time in this kind of test.
Group Test
A group of people are tested simultaneously in this kind of test.
Performance Test
Illiterate people will be tested in this manner. The majority of these examinations call for the resolution of patterns or the resolution of concrete-related issues.
These tests to determine a person’s intellect have so far shown to be beneficial. The most significant method of determining someone’s intellect is through IQ testing.
