Organization of Guidance Services At Different Levels of Education
The following are the purpose of organisation of guidance programme:
Co-ordinating Guidance Work
Well organised efforts will integrate the efforts of different members of the staff.
Consolidation of Individual Efforts
It will facilitate to utilise the qualities of each member of the staff in a systematic way for the purpose of guidance.
Economic Use of Time
Working for well defined goals leads to economic use of the time of the counselor and his time so saved will be utilised for more useful guidance activities.
Better Understanding of Pupil Traits
Pooled knowledge of the teachers about the student along with that of parents, enables to form an objective view of the traits of the students.
Better Understanding of Pupil Needs
He gets a type of feeling of importance and also that people are concerned about him. It helps him to become better adjusted individual who is happy and successful and who contributes to the happiness of the group.
Better Individual adjustment
Guidance organisation should exist to promote better individual adjustment and greater group welfare. That is not enough so, it requires to guide the individual contribution towards the welfare and success of his group.
Healthy Class Room Relations
It creates favourable class room atmosphere for the guidance worker to function.
Better Utilisation of Community Resources
Guidance worker utilizes the services of doctors, psychologists, therapists, specialists in different occupations for the purpose of guidance.
Better Staff Unity
It improves the relation between all the members of the staff as every one of them is clear about his duties and responsibilities.
