Concept of special education

The phrase “Special Education” itself refers to all facets of education that are applied to students with exceptionalities. Children with physical, mental, financial, and giftedness. But typical kids don’t typically use these approaches. The history of special education is extensive. The idea of special education is linked to the foundation of the caste system. The Brahmins were seen to be intellectually gifted in the prehistoric age, whereas the Kshatriyas were thought to be gifted in battle.

Similar to this, Vaisyas and Sudras had separate instruction. The main goal of this was to highlight the many groups of individuals with unique talents.

Students have received private instruction from their parents or professors who were aware of their abilities. The same processes are used in modern educational strategies to educate brilliant kids. Due to their focus on the average and disadvantaged kids, our educators rarely pay attention to brilliant kids. The various perspectives on special education have led to debates about whether it is appropriate to separate some kids from the general population and provide them with more chances.

Contrary to popular belief, special education does not consist of a comprehensive curriculum that is wholly distinct from the education of typical children.

Instead, it incorporates those parts of schooling that are unique in addition to the common curriculum for all kids. These kinds of institutions are often residential in several affluent nations like the USA and the UK. Residential schools are extremely uncommon in developing nations like India, but in certain major cities, attention is increasingly being made to offer these kids certain amenities.
