Characteristics Of Learning in Education
The characteristics of learning are as under:
- Learning results in a generally permanent change in behaviour: Learning results in behaviour change when the individual adapts to the situation. As a result, it is very true to argue that learning results in a change in behaviour that is substantially permanent rather than completely permanent.
- Learning is Growth: As a person lives, he grows. This development entails the leaner’s physical as well as cerebral development. Individuals gain experience through a variety of activities. All of these are educational resources. Individual development occurs as a result of living and learning. As a result, development and learning are inextricably linked.
- Learning is Continuous: Continuous learning indicates that one action leads to another, and the individual learns more and more as time passes. There is no end to what can be learned. From the cradle to the tomb, one must study.
- Learning is Purposeful: All types of learning have a purpose in mind. The individual acts for a reason. He learns via doing. He becomes interested when he is aware of the goals he hopes to achieve through these activities. As a result, all learning is purposeful.
- Learning is Adjustment: Learning permits an individual to adequately adjust to new surroundings. Individuals experience new challenges and situations throughout their lives, and learning assists them in resolving such problems. Learning is the only way to develop the ability to respond appropriately to all events in life.
- Learning is Experience: People learn by their experiences. Life is full with experiences. All of these encounters bring fresh information, insight, abilities, and attitudes. Learning is more than just acquiring information, skills, and attitudes. It is also the restructuring of experiences or the synthesis of old and new experiences.
