Supervisor Qualities and Responsibilities

The main task of pedagogical supervision is to help teachers to improve their professional engagement in teaching.  Education Supervisors consult with administrative and school teachers to design and create a program curriculum that meets the needs of each student. They provide educators with visuals, equipment, necessary supplies and many other teaching aids. They also, help with teacher training and recruitment.

A supervisor serves as a linkman, issue orders and instructions, maintain discipline and monitor Performance. Ensuring safety, motivating workers,  reporting and handling grievances are some of the most important duties that a Supervisor has to perform.

In any organisation, a supervisor represents the entire organization and serves as an intermediary between staff and higher management. He further ensures compliance and develops the capabilities of others.

A supervisor’s first duty is to be well organised, and be acquainted with either the staff’s safety or health program. He should ensure that his colleagues, staff are receiving rightful wages on time and taking required breaks, and receiving their earned vacation time.

A supervisor act as a mediator among employees to resolve their conflicts and disputes through strategies from time to time.

A supervisor delegates tasks to employees/staff according to their knowledge, position and experience etc. to meet business subordinates To be an effective delegator, a supervisor should be well aware of the strengths, and weaknesses of his subordinates.

As a guidance provider, a supervisor guides his subordinates about how can they achieve organizational strategic goals and objectives by completing their assigned tasks promptly.

A Supervisor as a professional trainer develops new skills in his team members from time to time for succession planning.

Besides, a supervisor acts as a Co-ordinator, Communicator, and takes suggestions, reports, complaints, issues, grievances and feedback from his staff/colleagues to the management.

As a motivator, a supervisor is supposed to motivate and encourage his colleagues to put in their maximum efforts and increase their productivity.
