Factors Affecting Guidance and Counselling 

1)The main purpose of the guidance is to optimize the development of individual students for the ultimate development of the school while the main target of Counselling is to help individuals develop self confidence and adjust to life strategies and schooling problems.

2)Guidance refers to advice or a relevant piece of information provided by a superior, to resolve a problem or overcome difficulty. Counselling refers to professional advice given by a counsellor to an individual to help him in overcoming personal or psychological problems.

3)The terms guidance and counselling are being used in different contexts and can mean anything from informal advice that is often given to close friends to formal counselling undertaken by specially trained professionals.

4)Guidance is the assistance given to an individual to help him, to adjust to himself, to others and to his own environment. It is a process of all-around development.
